Membership
The Membership Committe is tasked with engaging current and new members to participate
in all of the Chapter's events. They will also welcome all visitors and participate in
all monthly program meetings. They will also be the sounding board for members concerns.
Communications
The Communications Committee handles all
communications to chapter members and non-members, utilizing email, the
chapter and national website, and various social media.
Education
The Education Committee is tasked with providing our membership and our
communities with both technical and non technical workshops and seminars
on new technology trends as they affect us in today's society.
Responsiblities also include training of our New York student competition
team, providing speakers for student events, and liaison to various high
schools.
Corporate Program
The Program Committee is responsible for organizing and facilitating the
monthly program meeting held monthly. They seek experts from a wide range
of Information Technology (IT) and non-IT backgrounds to present their
topics to BDPA members and non-members alike.
Corporate Relations
The Corporate Relations Commmittee will help foster corporate relationships.
They will participate in engaging our corporate sponsors with all of the
chapters events and community affairs.
Finance
The Finance Committee keeps a close watch on the budget
of the organization. They help the chapter maximize
the use of its funds.
Black Family Technology Awareness Week (BFTAW)
BFTAW is a national public awareness campaign designed to encourage more African Americans to incorporate technology into their daily lives. The event focuses on closing the digital divide by helping bridge the gap between black families and technology. |
